Bachelor of Science (B.Sc)

Bachelor of Science / Master of Science Details :

This section deals with science education in India and its scope and opportunities in India. Science education has gained tremendous importance among students in India, and more and more students are taking up fields related to science after Class 12. Most universities and colleges in India ofter a variety of science courses in India.

One cannot underestimate the scope of science in today's world. Science is the backbone of human existence. The practical effects of science can be seen in motion everywhere. From path breaking discoveries in atomic science to discovery of newer vaccines in life science, to technological advancements in the field of communication, transportation and even weather prediction, science has left no aspect of humans untouched.

Science, in the broad sense, refers to any systematic knowledge or practice that is achieved through scientific method and research. The word Science has been derived from the Latin word ‘scientia’ meaning knowledge. Science continuously seeks physical and logical explanations for the behaviour of the object in nature and tries to dispel suspicion and superstition. The (unstated) aim of science education in Indian schools has been to produce more people like Aryabhatta, C.V Raman, Dr. Kalam and Homi Bhabha.

Science can be broadly classified under two categories: Natural sciences, which deal with natural phenomena (including biological life), and Social sciences, which deal with human behavior and societies. Our present concern is concentrated on natural science which can also be called as basis sciences.

At school level, Science as a discipline of study, then it includes various subjects like, mathematics, chemistry, biology, physics, etc. College education in sciences (Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, Biotechnology, Computers etc) paves the way for carrying out research work.

This section also deals with the details about career options after taking science in school and the best universities that offer science courses.

Science Education

After class 10th, a student may choose any of the available streams. In class 11th and 12th, those who take science, learn the basics of Applied Physics, Applied Chemistry, Plant and Animal Biology and/or Higher Math. After completion of Class 12, one can either take the conventional way i.e. do courses such as B.Sc. and M.Sc. or can opt for a professional career such as B.Tech and MBBS.
