The Japanese word Kaizen is formed by combining the Japanese words Kai and Zen. Kaizen, which is the combination of the words Kai and Zen, means 'Continuous Improvement'. 5S is a workplace organization method named after five different Japanese words. The 5S method consists of Seiri, Seiton, Seiso, Seiketsu and Shitsuke steps. Kaizen stands for continuous improvement, while 5S includes practices to keep a workplace tidy and clean. The goals of Kaizen and 5S applications are parallel. Kaizen and 5S are effective methods preferred by institutions and businesses in increasing their success, increasing their efficiency and minimizing their losses.
